double ad wednesday

every Wednesday morning is our shopping day. grocery shopping that is. and by ours, i mean my sister, her four kids under the age of six, and my mom. it's always an adventure. why do we go on Wednesdays? because it's double ad Wednesdays at Sprouts of course. we love Sprouts. seriously though, if you're looking for quality and healthy food for a reasonable price, this is the store for you. we usually hit Sprouts after first stopping at Winco. each store has its own benefits so we make sure to go every Wednesday.
we like Winco mostly for its great bulk supply. you can go stock up on things such as nuts, grains, gluten-free flours, and so much more. they also compare their prices to other grocers such as wal-mart or Smiths so you can see your savings. we always purchase our almond milk here along with canned goods. it's definitely a good store for your basics. after Winco, we head to Sprouts. we love Sprouts for their great prices on quality meat and fresh produce. they also offer the usual goods from a local health food store. Sprouts is great for their double ads on Wednesday that I keep mentioning. every week they have different items on sale per usual at your local grocer, but on Wednesdays the previous week and the current week overlap so you receive double the savings. it's awesome.

so why am I telling you about my crazy Wednesday mornings when I go grocery shopping you may ask? well, it's because i think it's a pretty useful tip. by having a set schedule, you can help yourself plan out meals and healthy snacks so you can avoid those temptations of eating out or staring at your refrigerator wondering what you're going to eat for dinner. don't get me wrong, i still definitely have nights where I just want to eat out or I don't want to make dinner but having a plan and keeping healthy food in your house makes it easier for you to stay fit and well fed which is crucial not only during pregnancy but for every other phase of life.
here's another tip: don't go to the grocery store hungry or you just might end up buying a carton of Ben & Jerry's hazed and confused {sooo good} ice cream for in between stores. granted, I shared, but still, you'd think I could have some self control at 9:30 in the morning.

anyways, sorry if this post seems jumbled or rushed. it's late and my battery is about to die. but that's it for tonight. let me know of your favorite grocery stores or shopping tips. i'd love to hear them!
good night.

in the beginning

to start, let's introduce myself and this blog.
i am a twenty-one year old single mother pregnant with my first baby. we found out yesterday that it's a boy! the ultrasound was pretty fun. i'm 31 weeks along so we were able to get some awesome shots. it's still weird to think that there's a living being inside of me. i am honestly ready for the pregnant stage to just be done with and have the baby but who isn't i would imagine. better out than in right?? for me this pregnancy hasn't been easy as the details around it have been hard and i've gone through depression and negativity but i've finally decided to move past that and get ready and excited for this new life and my new life along with it. some days still suck. like super suck. but it will all be okay. being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and having a knowledge of the gospel is something that definitely helps me through those days and a supportive and loving family.
anyways, i decided to start this blog so i could blog about the certain things i love and am passionate about. number one being my soon to be little family, fitness, eating right, and creating {as in DIY projects from Pinterest,} and the gospel. i figured when better to start teaching my son to eat right than while still pregnant. as crazy as it seems to me, they're smarter than you think at this tiny phase and they notice and live on the good, or bad, things you choose to eat or happen to crave during pregnancy. or the exercise that helps you better care for your and your baby's body. i'm not saying don't indulge, because that would be crazy. just be aware of what you're putting in your body. all of these factors and more affect them. so i figured i could blog about my life while providing tips for pregnant moms, as long as i'm pregnant, as well as hopefully receiving some of my own tips. i don't claim to be an expert in any one of these fields but i'll share what works for me and my family and hopefully that can help someone out in cyberspace.
and that's it for today. let me know along the way if you want tips for anything specific or have questions. as i said, i'm always learning so any tips or advice you have to offer would be great as well. i hope you enjoy.
stay great and positive!
